Dress Code

  • For ballet class you must wear leotard and tights.  Tank tops, shorts and/or jazz pants of your choice are acceptable for all classes EXCEPT ballet. 
  • For students older than 10 - black ballet slippers, black tap shoes
  • For students younger than 10 - white ballet slippers, black tap shoes
  • Hair must be pulled back securely
  • No large jewelry
  • No baggy clothes or jeans 

 
General

  1. No street shoes in dance room.  Please keep shoes, boots, bags and coats in the waiting area. 
  2. No food or candy allowed in dance room.  Water bottles are allowed and are encouraged for students with more than one hour of class. 
  3. Absolutely NO chewing gum.
  4. Good attendance is imperative as tardiness and absences can not only disrupt the student's progression, but also impact the entire class.
  5. Students must wait in the waiting area for the preceding class to be dismissed before entering the classroom, so as to not disrupt the ongoing class.
  6. Students must wait inside the studio until their ride has arrived.  The studio will not be responsible for those students who choose to leave on their own.
  7. Illness - Please keep all sick children at home so that they can get the much needed rest to recover and do not share their illness with the rest of the class.
  8. Class Cancellations - If Phoenix Central School District closes, dismisses early and/or after school activities are canceled due to weather, dance classes are canceled.
  9. If the weather is questionable, we strongly advise that you call (695-6507) before attempting to drive to the studio.  Occasionally classes have started and the weather worsens.  If so, use your judgment. 
  10. All students participate in the annual recital scheduled in May or June of each year.  The recital is held at the Phoenix High School Auditorium.

 
Tuition

Tuition is payable monthly, no later than the 10th of each month.  Payments not received by the 10th of the month are subject to  a 20% late fee.      Checks  returned for any reason will result in an additional $20.00 fee.

Tuition is calculated as 30 lessons paid over 9 monthly payments (34 lessons are scheduled annually)

45 minute class................... $25.00/month

60 minute class....................$35.00/month

90 minute class....................$45.00/month

Duet, Trio and small group lessons are available to students who have taken 1 year of dance at this studio and been approved by the director for private lessons.  These classes meet 20 minutes each week solely to work on choreography to be performed in an upcoming performance.
 
Duet $5.00 per student, per lesson
Trio $3.00 per student, per lesson
Small group $3.00 per student, per lesson

 
Registration

All students must fill out a registration form.  All returning students will be expected to update his or her registration form should any of the information change.  There is a $20.00 non-refundable registration fee per student.  For students who complete the year, $5.00 will be deducted from their costume balance.  Save $5.00 if you register by August 31st, 2012.  Please send registration fees to Colleen's School of Dance, c/o Colleen Ensby, 323 County Route 57A, Phoenix, NY 13135.
 
Costume Fees

A costume deposit of $30.00 per student is due in December.  The remaining balance will be due the first of March.  Costumes will not be ordered without payment.
